Sales negotiation
In a negotiation, a seller lets it "slip" that another client is about to reserve the entire stock, to create a sense of urgency in the buyer. The information, presented as an involuntary confidence, aims to accelerate the decision.
Recognise the ploy: an overly convenient indiscretion that creates urgency should be verified before acting; never decide on the strength of a leak alone.
Creates decision pressure through the illusion of scarcity.
Easily neutralised: a buyer who demands written confirmation disarms the leak.
